Travel Information
The nearest airport is Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and it is about a 20 minute drive from the airport to the dojo. Public transportation in the Raleigh Durham area is only good for the shortest trips, so a taxi or rideshare is more efficient. The nearest train station is Amtrak Cary (CYN), which is a ten minute drive from the dojo. The Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Cary has a block of rooms reserved at a discounted group rate for us; this hotel is 1.3 miles from the dojo. (To get the group rate, book using this link before February 17). If you are looking for a hotel that is a quick walk to the dojo, try La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Raleigh Cary, which is just across the street from the dojo’s back door.
Dinner Information
On Friday after training we will host a pizza party at the dojo. The pizza party is pay-what-you-can; donations are welcome. You can donate with cashapp ($hemlockbluffsaikido) or by dropping cash into the dinner donation box. The pizza party is BYOB.
Saturday’s dinner will be held al fresco at Tammy Gordon’s house (dress for the weather; address available at the event). The menu will be:
Roasted chicken, vegetarian estofado, rice, bread, hearts-of-palm salad, dessert
Dinner is pay-what-you-can, so if you cannot pay, no problem! If you are able to pay for someone else, you are welcome to donate extra. A $20 donation per person will help us to cover all dinner costs. You can pay with Cashapp ($hemlockbluffsaikido), Venmo (@hemlockbluffsaikido) or by dropping cash into the dinner donation box. Also dinner is BYOB.
